PSEB Launches Class 12 Entrepreneurship: Grow Your Own Startup!

The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) just finalized the Class 12 Entrepreneurship curriculum. This huge step strengthens innovation and self-reliance among students. It builds on the successful Business Blaster programme for Class 11, started in 2022-23. The new course starts in the 2026–27 academic year. It prepares young Punjabis to become job creators, not just job seekers.
Why This Entrepreneurship Course Matters
Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced this major development. Entrepreneurship is now a compulsory subject in 3,692 senior secondary schools. The goal is simple: equip students with real-world business skills.
It helps students change ideas into viable ventures.
The course covers startup challenges, finance, and legal procedures.
It teaches essential budgeting and business planning.
Ready for the Future
The PSEB made sure the curriculum and textbooks finished ahead of schedule. So, around 5.60 lakh students will pursue this subject easily. The board also trained over 10,382 teachers and 231 master trainers. This shows real commitment to future-ready education.
Students learn best by doing. The program involves hands-on learning:
Students form teams to develop business ideas.
Next, they build working prototypes.
Also, they pitch for seed funding.
Finally, they launch products to the market.
This practical approach gives students the confidence to drive Punjab's economic future. The government believes this focus on self-employment and startup culture will greatly help the state grow. Innovation starts in the classroom!
