CBSE Suspends and Cancels School Affiliations in Gurgaon and Jaipur

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken strict regulatory action against private schools in Gurgaon (Haryana) and Jaipur (Rajasthan) after identifying major violations of board bylaws and student safety norms. The decisions were announced through official notifications issued by the board.
CBSE Suspends Affiliation of GD Goenka High School, Gurgaon
CBSE has suspended the affiliation of GD Goenka High School, Sohna (Gurgaon) for the 2026–27 academic session following multiple breaches of CBSE affiliation bylaws.
According to the board, the decision was taken after:
Reviewing the school’s written response dated September 29, 2025
Examining findings submitted by the CBSE inspection committee
As a result of the suspension:
The school is barred from admitting new students in Classes 9 and 11 for the upcoming academic year
Students already enrolled in Classes 9, 10, 11, and 12 are allowed to continue, subject to strict compliance with enhanced safety and regulatory conditions
CBSE stated that the action reflects its zero-tolerance policy toward violations affecting academic integrity and student welfare.
CBSE Cancels Affiliation of Neeraj Modi School, Jaipur
In a separate and more severe action, CBSE has cancelled the affiliation of Neeraj Modi School, Jaipur, up to the senior secondary level, with immediate effect.
The cancellation follows a tragic incident involving the death of a Class 4 student in November 2025. The board cited:
Serious lapses in child safety protocols
Violations of CBSE affiliation bylaws
Failure to ensure a safe and supportive school environment
Inspection Committee Findings
After the incident, CBSE constituted a two-member special inspection committee to assess the school’s compliance with safety regulations.
The committee:
Conducted a surprise inspection on November 3
Interacted with school management, teachers, and staff
Reviewed CCTV footage
Evaluated existing safety infrastructure and child protection mechanisms
In its final report, the committee recorded grave shortcomings in safety arrangements and compliance, leading CBSE to withdraw the school’s affiliation without delay.
CBSE Reaffirms Commitment to Student Safety
CBSE emphasized that student safety, mental well-being, and adherence to prescribed norms remain its top priorities. The board warned that any institution found compromising these standards will face strict disciplinary action, including suspension or cancellation of affiliation.
Parents and students are advised to rely only on official CBSE notifications for accurate updates regarding school affiliation status.
