WB Schools to Get New NEP 2020 Syllabus from 2028 Session

West Bengal will overhaul its school education system from Class 1 to Class 12, introducing a modernized curriculum aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. State School Education Minister Dipak Barman announced that government and government-aided schools will implement the new NEP-aligned syllabus in the 2028 academic session, following initial textbook reviews set for 2027.
This structural reform brings an end to the state's delay in adopting national learning frameworks, establishing a child-centric system focused on skill acquisition and conceptual understanding.
