SC Orders NEET SS Counselling Wrap in Two Weeks

The Supreme Court of India has directed the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) to complete the stalled NEET SS 2025 counselling process within two weeks. Alongside this directive, the apex court instructed the Tamil Nadu state government to restore 151 Super Speciality medical seats by July 29, 2026.
The decision follows formal appeals highlighting a delay of nearly five months in the allotment procedure. The administrative freeze prevented thousands of qualified specialist doctors from initiating their advanced medical training across participating institutions.
FAIMA Demands Immediate Execution
Welcoming the judicial order, the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) urged the MCC to resume seat processing immediately without additional delays. FAIMA had previously submitted a official representation to the Supreme Court's Judicial Registrar seeking an early hearing for Diary No. 37658/2026.
'Thousands of specialist doctors have already waited for months, and every additional delay impacts both their careers and patient care,' the medical association stated in an official communication.
FAIMA pointed out that prolonged administrative delays trigger severe professional, financial, and psychological strain among medical professionals while directly affecting healthcare delivery.
Next Steps for Candidates
With the judicial directive mandating the inclusion of the 151 restored seats in Tamil Nadu, official agencies are expected to update their portals shortly.
The revised NEET SS 2025 counselling schedule will be published on the official MCC website.
Qualified candidates are advised to monitor official online portals regularly for fresh seat matrix releases and registration deadlines.
