NTA NEET UG 2026 Admit Card and City Slip Update

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is moving into the final phase of preparations for the NEET UG 2026 examination, scheduled for May 3, 2026. With the registration and correction windows now closed, the focus has shifted to the release of essential exam documents. According to official sources, the NEET City Intimation Slip 2026 is expected to be released by the third or fourth week of April, providing candidates with advanced notice of their allotted examination cities across India and abroad.

Understanding the City Intimation Slip vs Admit Card

It is crucial for candidates to distinguish between the two documents. The City Intimation Slip is not the actual hall ticket; its primary purpose is to allow students to make necessary travel and lodging arrangements in their designated exam cities.

City Slip Release: Tentatively April 20–25, 2026.

Admit Card Release: Strictly 3 to 4 days before the exam (expected around April 29 or 30).

Exam Timing: The test will be conducted in a single shift from 2:00 PM to 5:20 PM IST in pen-and-paper mode.

 

How to Download NEET 2026 Documents Online

All documents will be hosted on the official NTA NEET portal. Candidates should avoid third-party websites and rely solely on neet.nta.nic.in.

Follow these steps for a secure download:

Visit the official website at neet.nta.nic.in.

Look for the link 'Download City Intimation Slip' or 'Download Admit Card' on the homepage.

Enter your NEET 2026 Application Number and Date of Birth.

Input the security pin as displayed and click 'Submit'.

Save the document as a PDF and ensure you have a color printout for the exam day.

Mandatory Guidelines for Exam Day

The NTA has reiterated its strict dress code and security protocols for 2026. Students must carry their printed Admit Card, a valid original photo ID (Aadhar Card, PAN Card, or Passport), and a passport-size photograph identical to the one uploaded during registration.

Entry Time: Gates typically close at 1:30 PM, and no candidate will be allowed entry under any circumstances after this time.

Prohibited Items: Electronic gadgets, jewelry, stationery items (other than what is provided), and heavy clothing with large buttons are strictly banned.

Current Status of Results and Counselling

While the exam is yet to take place, the NTA has tentatively set the NEET UG 2026 Result Date for the second week of June. Following the result declaration, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will begin the centralized counselling process for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in July. Aspiring medical students are advised to utilize this remaining month for intensive mock tests and revision of the NCERT syllabus to maximize their scores in what is expected to be a highly competitive year.
