The Medical Counselling Committee is set to release the official NEET UG 2026 counselling schedule by July 31, 2026, on its portal at mcc.nic.in. The upcoming seat allotment process covers the 15 percent All India Quota seats, while individual state authorities will manage the remaining 85 percent quota admissions separately.

Candidate registrations for Round 1 seat allocation are expected to open in the first week of August 2026, following the declaration of Re-NEET results on July 16, 2026, in which 11.21 lakh out of nearly 20 lakh candidates qualified.

Projected Seat Allotment Timeline

The official MCC portal status currently indicates 'Will Update Soon,' with full details on participating Central Universities, Deemed Universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, and B.Sc Nursing institutes available under the site's information section.

Required Documentation and Legislative Context

Candidates seeking admission to medical and dental programs must present several original documents during reporting, including their NEET UG 2026 admit card, rank card, Class 10 and 12 certificates, photo identification, provisional allotment letter, eight passport photographs, and category or disability certificates if applicable.

The admission cycle coincides with legislative action, as Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh introduced the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026 in Parliament on July 27 following cabinet approval on July 24. Introduced in response to student protests over paper leaks, the bill increases prison sentences for exam malpractices to 5–10 years and sets maximum fines of up to ₹10 crore.
