Maharashtra Board New Combined Marksheet Certificate 2026

In a major move to enhance security and simplify documentation, the Maharashtra State Board has decided to merge the traditional marksheet and passing certificate into a single marksheet-cum-certificate. This change will be effective starting with the batch that appeared for the February–March 2026 examinations, impacting over 31.5 lakh students across the state.

Digital Security Features and QR Code Integration

The most notable addition to the new document is a unique secure QR code. This feature is designed to provide instant, tamper-proof verification. By scanning the code via the official MSBSHSE mobile application, employers, colleges, and universities can immediately access the student’s authentic academic record directly from the board’s database.

Furthermore, for the first time in the board's history, the student’s passport-size photograph will be printed directly on the certificate, serving as a secondary layer of identity verification and significantly reducing the risk of document forgery.

Alignment with Aadhaar Card Details

To eliminate technical discrepancies during university admissions and job applications, the board has updated its data entry protocols. The student details, specifically the name format, will now strictly follow the pattern found on the user's Aadhaar card.

Previous Format: Surname – First Name – Father's Name.

New Format: Matches official government identification (Aadhaar).

Convenience and Cost Efficiency

The transition to a single A4-size document is not only a matter of convenience for students but also a strategic move by the board to reduce administrative overhead and printing costs.

One-Stop Record: Students no longer need to wait six months for a separate passing certificate.

Standardized Storage: The A4 format ensures that the certificate fits perfectly into standard filing systems used by educational institutions worldwide.

Faster Verification: Digital-first features mean that manual 'verification of marks' requests to the board office will drastically decrease.

The Maharashtra SSC Results 2026 and Maharashtra HSC Results 2026 are expected to be declared in May 2026. Students are advised to ensure their photographs and names are correctly updated in their school records before the final printing process begins. This reform marks a digital leap for the MSBSHSE, aligning it with modern global educational standards.
