The Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE), Pune, has officially released the MAHA TET 2026 notification, marking the start of the teacher recruitment cycle for the state. Aspiring educators who wish to teach in primary (Classes 1 to 5) and upper-primary (Classes 6 to 8) schools can now submit their MAHA TET online application. This state-level eligibility test is a mandatory qualification for securing teaching positions in government, aided, and private schools across Maharashtra.

Last Date to Apply & Pay Fee: April 16, 2026

Admit Card Release Date: June 9, 2026

Eligibility Criteria and Application Fees

To maintain high educational standards, the MSCE has set specific academic requirements for both Paper I and Paper II. Candidates must ensure they meet these benchmarks before initiating the registration process.

MAHA TET 2026 Exam Pattern and Timings

The examination will be conducted in offline (pen-and-paper) mode across various centers in Maharashtra. Each paper will consist of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Paper I (Morning Shift): 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM

Paper II (Afternoon Shift): 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM

Qualifying Marks: General category candidates must score at least 60% (90/150), while reserved categories require 55% (82/150).
