Jharkhand School Schedule Changes Due to Heatwave

As per the latest updates, the state government of Jharkhand has revised the timings of schools due to the scorching heat. The new schedule is as follows:



As of April 19 to 25, 2023, a revised schedule has been implemented in Jharkhand due to the intense heatwave. During this period, prayer meetings or sports activities will not be conducted under the sun to ensure the safety of students from extreme heat. However, mid-day meals will continue to be served.

The Jharkhand Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert for 11 districts on April 18 and 19, 2023. The districts affected include Garhwa, Palamu, Latehar, Chatra, Godda, Sahibganj, Dumka, Pakur, East Singhbhum, Saraikela-Kharswan, and West Singhbhum. With temperatures soaring above 40 degrees Celsius in many areas of the state, the severity of the heatwave is evident. Stay updated with any changes to exam dates or datesheet in light of this revised schedule



Health Dept. Issues Heatwave Warning



The health department has issued an advisory urging people to stay hydrated, wear light-colored and cotton clothes, and carry an umbrella or scarf to protect themselves from heatwaves.



In addition, the Jharkhand High Court has ordered the state government to ensure adequate water supply during the summer season. The court, presided by Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Justice Ananda Sen, has been hearing public interest lawsuits related to water scarcity and encroachment around water bodies. The court emphasized the need to eliminate encroachments and deal strictly with additional impediments to ensure the smooth flow of water into the water bodies.
