CLAT 2026 Counselling Registration Now Open at consortiumofnlus.ac.in
Future law students, start your engines! The CLAT 2026 counselling registration process is officially underway. The Consortium of NLUs opened the registration portal. You must complete this process to get admission into a top law college.
Key Dates You Cannot Miss
You have a short time to register and lock your choices. Note these two main dates on your calendar:
Registration Start: December 17, 2025 (at 6:00 PM)
Registration Deadline: December 27, 2025 (at 10:00 PM)
You must pay the counselling fee before the deadline. Do not wait for the last hour. Finish the process well before December 27.
How to Register for CLAT Counselling
The whole process happens online. You need to log in to the official portal. Follow these four simple steps:
Visit the official website: consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
Log in to your CLAT 2026 account using your details.
Click on the counselling registration link.
Pay the required counselling registration fee.
The fee is Rs 30,000 for General candidates. For SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD categories, the fee is Rs 20,000. This fee is partly refundable if you exit the process.
Choose Your NLU Preferences
After paying the fee, you must choose your NLU preferences. This is the most important step. You tell the board which law schools you want to attend.
UG candidates must select a minimum of 15 preferences. PG candidates must select at least 5. List them from your most-wanted to your least-wanted NLU. Your final seat depends on your CLAT rank and these choices.
You can edit your preferences multiple times. But you must lock them before the December 27 deadline. The first seat allotment list comes out on January 7, 2026.

Class 10th Marksheet
Class 12th Marksheet
Caste Certificate (if you have one)
